Innovation Centre |
|
Attached to the expanded manufacturing
facility in Enfield, The Innovation Centre, has the capability of developing
and producing prototype gloves using a variety of different technologies.
In this way we are able to develop new and innovative products in house
quickly and efficiently. In addition we are able to offer our customers
a tailor made service to help solve their hand protection problems. With
the added ability to produce small trial quantities the optimum glove can
be developed, trialled and modified before committing to large scale production.
When this is combined with the comprehensive range of CE test facilities in Polyco’s UKAS accredited Technical Centre, the service and expertise offered to our customers is light years ahead of our competitors. |
Testing
|
The in-house development of extremely
high cut resistant gloves, presented a new challenge to the Technical Centre.
As glove structures with enhanced cut resistance were developed, the EN388
standard cut resistance test method was found to be inadequate; it was not
capable of measuring the higher levels of cut resistance presented by these
gloves. A new method was needed.
The ISO Cut Test Machine (ICTM) was selected on the basis that it is widely
recognised as providing accurate and reliable measurements. This new test
method measures the force required for a blade to slice through the fabric
in a specified distance of 20mm.
