Your skin can become sensitive for a number of reasons. Chemicals such as bleach, descalers, floor and oven cleaners can irritate and weaken the skin.
Abrasion from rubbing will wear away the protective outer layer of the skin, while water, as we all know, will cause the skin to wrinkle and become more prone to damage. Rubber chemicals may be absorbed by the skin and sensitise the immune system such that repeated exposure can lead to allergic reactions which appear as an inflammation or nettle rash.
All of these processes can leave the skin in a weakened condition in which it may crack and started to bleed; a condition that makes glove choice more difficult.
